উল্লেখ্য যে, চম্পা বড়ো বিএপিএল শ্ৰেণীৰ এগৰাকী অনুসূচিত জনজাতিৰ মহিলা ৷ এই আঁচনি লাভ কৰাৰ আগতে তেখেতৰ কোনোধৰণৰ বাৰ্ষিক উপাৰ্জন নাছিল ৷ কিন্তু, বৰ্তমান তেওঁ প্ৰতিমাহে ৪,৫০০ টকাৰ পৰা ৫,০০০ টকা পৰ্য্যন্ত উপাৰ্জন কৰে আৰু নিজে স্বতন্ত্ৰ হোৱাৰ লগতে পৰিয়ালৰ লোক সকলক পোহপাল দিবলৈ সক্ষম হৈছে ৷

Building a self-reliant Assam

The Panchayat and Rural Development Department has been working towards the socio-economic development of the poor people of the rural areas by generating livelihood and poverty alleviation and ensuring social security. The Department is implementing various schemes regarding this. Amongst these, the notable flagship scheme is Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA). Under MGNREGA, Swanirbhar Naari – Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme benefits the women of BPL category by generating livelihoods, which financially empowers them by making them self-reliant and improves their role in society. Smt. Champa Boro, a Scheduled Tribe woman of BAPL category, of Deosal GP, Mayong block under Morigaon DRDA has been selected under MGNREGA to open an individual nursery. About Rs. 1.49 lakh was allocated for the financial year 2020-21. She has set up the nursery for Rs. 1,09,865. Currently she secures a monthly income of Rs.4,500-5,000 and assists her family. The execution of the scheme has also resulted in 579 Mandays. My best wishes to Smt. Champa Boro for her successful initiative and I urge other women in the state to become partners of change to usher in self-reliance for all in Assam.
